Back in 1995 there was a Tug-O-War event arranged to raise much needed funds for charity. Also known as The Battle of the Liffey, my wife and I along with many CB'ers took part in this fun event with the Northside CB'ers versus the Southside CB'ers.
This was a fun event which seen many clubs participate. Memories of the day are hazy at best, but I do remember it was a warm sunny day. I also remember the lighthearted banter relating to my wife (a Southsider) pulling for the Northsiders.
I was on the Northsider team, also known as Mr. Blobbys Pullers, due mainly to Paul Matthews (R.I.P.) obsession with Noel Edmonds House party and especially the antics of Mr. Blobby, we faced our opponents from the Southside, known as The Southside Tugs. The group featured many well known CB operators from south of the Liffey, including the Famous Dave KCR, Also on the team were Andy (Dolphins Barn) and several others who will have their names added eventually.
If anybody has any more information, names or photos of the event I'd love to see them. If you know the names of those in either photo please let me know.
